Park’s Critiques of Hume’s Argument against Induction
In his recent book Induction, Science, and Morality, Seungbae Park raises four key objections to David Hume’s argument against induction, one of which is the claim that the faculty of reason and experience might jointly justify induction. This paper pursues two aims. First, it argues that none of Park’s objections succeeds. Second, by critically engaging with those objections, it aims to provide a clearer and deeper understanding of Hume’s argument against induction and its enduring philosophical significance.
