한국역학사상의 주제별 분류 시론(試論)
A Tentative Study on the Thematic Classification of Korean Yixue Thought
본 논문은 한국역학사상의 주제별 분류에 관한 시론을 주역 읽기의 한국적 토착화, 수양역(修養易), 경세역(經世易), 과학역(科學易), 도설역(圖說易), 문화역(文化易), 형이상학역(形而上學易)으로 구분하여 제시했다. 이는 한국문집에 나타난 주역 및 역학 관련 구절들을 추출하여 분석한 후에 도출해 낸 주제어들이다. 본 논문은 이러한 주제별 분류를 통해 한국철학사의 맥락에서 역학이 어떻게 사유되었는지를 주제어를 통해 살펴보고, 주제어만으로도 역학의 기능, 역할, 의미를 한눈에 이해할 수 있도록 하는 데에서 그 문제의식이 시작되었다. 기존 방식의 시대별‧인물별 한국철학 정리 작업을 넘어서 현재적 의미 발굴 작업, 한국을 넘어선 동아시아적 맥락에서 한국철학의 의미 재조명 작업으로까지 한국철학 정리작업의 요구가 높아지고 있는 현 시점에서 주제별 한국역학사상사 분류를 통해 시대를 관통하는 한국역학의 일관된 특징, 정신, 의의, 한계 등을 살펴볼 수 있도록 하는 데 본 논문의 문제의식이 있다.
This paper presents a tentative study on the thematic classification of Korean Yixue (易學) thought. It categorizes the Korean reception and development of Zhouyi into the following themes: the Korean localization of Zhouyi reading, Self-Cultivation Yi (修養易), Governance Yi (經世易), Scientific Yi (科學易), Diagrammatic Yi (圖說易), Cultural Yi (文化易), and Metaphysical Yi (形而上學易). These thematic categories were derived through the extraction and analysis of Zhouyi-related passages from Korean literary collections.
The motivation of this study arises from the desire to understand how Yixue was conceptualized in the context of Korean philosophical history by identifying and organizing its themes. The aim is also to enable a comprehensive grasp of the functions, roles, and meanings of Yixue at a glance, solely through thematic keywords.
Beyond merely organizing or describing Korean philosophy, this study is grounded in the current scholarly effort to uncover its contemporary significance and re-illuminate its value in East Asian contexts, both within and beyond Korea. Through this thematic classification of Korean Yixue thought, the study seeks to identify the enduring features, spirit, significance, and limitations that characterize Korean interpretations of Yixue across different historical periods.
