니체의 관계론적 세계에서의 심리학
Psychology in Nietzsche’s Relational World
이 연구의 목적은 힘에의 의지의 관계론적 세계에서 인간의 심리적 방식을 해명해 보는 데 있다. 니체의 형이상학적 관계론에 대한 아이디어들을 통하여, 세계를 이루어내는 힘에의 의지의 내재적 관계가 세계뿐만 아니라 우리의 심리에도 동일한 방식으로 작동함을 이해해 보고자 한다. 우리 인간은 언제나 크고 작게 심리적 문제, 정신적 병듦의 문제를 안고 있고, 이에 대한 해명은 인간의 삶, 역사, 심리, 철학 등을 막론하고 그 어디에서나 중요한 쟁점으로 다뤄지고 있다. 특히 서양 근대 이후의 심리학에서는 이 심리적 문제가 일련의 인과관계, 즉 개인의 경험이나 심리적 과정과 관련해 있다고 보고 이에 기반하여 치료와 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그런데 니체는 『선악의 저편』에서 기존 심리학이 세계를 바라보는 관점, 즉 “도덕적 편견과 두려움”이 내재 된 관점으로 구성한 ‘인과’적 세계로부터 심리적 병듦의 문제가 발생한다고 본다. 그리고 이 때문에 기존 심리학이 “힘에의 의지의 형태론과 발달 이론”으로, 즉 관계론적 방식으로 심층적으로 연구해 나가지 못했다고 주장한다.
이에 따라 본 논문은 먼저 기존 심리학에 대비하여, 니체가 생각하는 인과관계의 가능성은 어디에 있는지 알아본다. 그리고 니체가 기존 심리학이 “힘에의 의지의 형태론과 발달 이론”으로 나아가지 못했다고 했는데, 그렇다면 힘에의 의지가 무엇이고, 그것의 발달 과정으로의 관계론적 세계를 기술해 본다. 그런 후에 우리의 심리적 방식이 관계론적 세계에서 어떻게 해석될 수 있는가로 나아가 보겠다.
The purpose of this study is to elucidate human psychological facts within the Relational World of the Will to Power. Through Nietzsche’s ideas on metaphysical relationality, I aim to understand how the inherent relationship of the Will to Power, which shapes the world, operates in the same way not only in the world but also in our own Psychology. Humans have always struggled with psychological problems and mental illnesses, both large and small. The solution to these problems has been a central issue across human life, history, psychology, and philosophy. In Western Psychology, especially since modern times, psychological problems are viewed as related to a series of causal relationships, that is, individual experiences or psychological processes, and treatment and research are conducted based on this. However, in Beyond Good and Evil, Nietzsche argues that the problem of psychological illness arises from the causal world constructed by conventional Psychology’s perspective on the world—a perspective inherent in “moral prejudices and fears.” This is why, it is argued, conventional Psychology has failed to delve into the “morphological and developmental theory of the Will to Power,” that is, in a relational mechanism.
Accordingly, this paper first examines the possibility of Causality in Nietzsche’s view, comparing it to conventional Psychology. Nietzsche argued that conventional Psychology failed to advance to a “morphological and developmental theory of the Will to Power.” So, let’s describe the Will to Power and its developmental process within a Relational World. After that, we’ll move on to how our psychological facts can be interpreted within a Relational World.
