초록
가족은 사적 영역으로 간주되어 왔다. 하지만 가족 영역 내에는 여전히 관습적인 성별 노동분업구조가 깃들어 있고 이를 문제시하지 않은 상태에서 이 구조를 바탕으로 사회의 분배구조가 성립되어 있다. 이 논문은 가족의 성별 노동분업구조가 사회정의의 문제로 다뤄져야 함을 주장하며 이러한 문제의식을 간과한 롤즈와 왈저의 정의론을 오킨의 논의를 통해 비판한다. 이 논문은 가족 영역의 성별분업구조가 정의의 문제임을 밝힌 오킨의 통찰이 차이의정치를 내세운 영의 노선 혹은 분배 패러다임의 복원을 내세운 프레이저의 노선을 택하여 발전될 수 있음을 주장한다. 하지만 영과프레이저는 여성주의적 패러다임 안에서도 서로 다른 노선으로 대립하는 것으로 보인다. 이에 이 논문은 두 노선의 차이가 어떤 의미를 가지는지 검토하였고 적어도 오킨의 문제의식을 발전시키기위한 목적으로 볼 때 두 노선의 차이가 실질적인 것이라기보다 개념 사용의 불일치에서 온다는 점을 밝힌다.
The purpose of this paper is to point that the gendered division of labor in the family should be treated as an issue of social justice and examine some persuasive ideas to address this issue as one of social justice. First I criticize Rawls’s and Walzer’s theory of justice, both of which overlooked the issue of gender inequality in the family, via introducing Okin’s criticism. And then I argue that Okin’s insight, which reveals that the gendered division of labor in the family is the issue of justice, can be developed by taking Young’s approach to the politics of difference or Fraser’s approach to the restoration of the distributive paradigm. Young and Fraser appear to show very different ways from each other, or even at odds with each other within the feminist paradigm. I examine the nature of the divergence between them and finally conclude that their disagreement comes from their different scope of key concept, not from their substantial viewpoints.
