이 논문은 야코비가 헤겔에게 미친 영향을 다루고 그 의미를 평가한다. 청년 헤겔은 야코비를 신랄하게 비판했으나 후기에는 그를 높이 평가한다. 첫째, 헤겔은 야코비의 반성철학을 비판했음에도 불구하고 그의 직접성 개념과 오성 형이상학 비판을 적극적으로 수용한다. 이 둘에 토대를 둔 매개적 직접성 개념과 이성 형이상학은 헤겔 철학의 대표 사상이 되었다. 둘째, 야코비와 헤겔은 스피노자 학설 ‘부록 VII’을 둘러싸고 가상 논쟁을 벌인다. 원인과 근거의 구별을 주장하는 야코비와 이를 비판하는 헤겔의 관점을 대비시킴으로써 두 철학의 특징을 파악한다. 야코비는 원인과 근거를 구별할 때 사변논리의 전제가 드러날 수 있다는 주장을 편다. 셋째, 야코비의 인과성 개념에 대해 튀빙겐 슈티프트(Stift)의 플라트가 수행한 비판을 탐구한다. 제자 헤겔에게 미친 플라트의 영향 및 당대에 논의된 야코비의 영향을 고찰하는 것은 1800년 전후 근대 독일철학의 문제의식과 그것이 갖는 현재의 의미를 밝혀 줄 수 있다.
This paper examines the influence of Jacobi on Hegel and evaluates its significance. The young Hegel harshly criticized Jacobi, but later came to highly value him. First, Hegel criticized Jacobi’s reflective philosophy, but actively accepted his concept of immediateness and his critique of the metaphysics of understanding(Verstandsmetaphysik). The concept of mediated immediateness and the metaphysics of reason, based on these two concepts, became representative thought of Hegel’s philosophy. Second, Jacobi and Hegel engage in a hypothetical debate surrounding Appendix VII of Über die Lehre Spinozas, and analyze the distinction between cause and ground, which is at its core. Jacobi argues for the distinction between cause and ground, and Hegel criticizes it. Jacobi argues that the premises of speculative logic can be revealed when we distinguish between the two. Third, I explore the critique of Jacobi’s concept of causality by J. F. Flatt in Tübinger Stift. This paper traces its significance by analyzing Flatt’s influence on his disciple Hegel and Jacobi’s influence discussed during Hegel’s Time, especially around 1800.
