철학자와 의사가 탐구하는 인간은 동일하지만, 그 안에 내재한 원리에 대한 탐구는 철학과 의학을 개별 학문영역으로 나아가게 한다. 그럼에도 이 두 학문은 건강과 병을 바탕으로 인간의 존재론적 본질을 탐구하는 의철학 속에서 유기적으로 관계한다. 그럼에도 변함없는 사실은 철학은 의학의 문제의식이며 의학은 철학이 제기한 문제의식을 해소하는 인간학적 답변이라는 것이다. 철학이 사유하는 자연(Natur)과 의학이 보살피는 자연은 동일하다. 그리고 철학자와 의사가 진단하고 치유하는 자연은 동일하다. 인간의 존재론적 토대로서의 자연 속에서 영혼과 육체의 이원론이 무의미한 이유는 이 때문이다. 인간은 대지의 자연과 생명력의 원리를 공유하는 자연의 일부이자 자연 그 자체이다. 그렇기 때문에 건강과 병은 단 하나의 진리체계 혹은 기계적인 지식체계에 의해 규명될 수 없다. 이러한 의미에서 단 하나의 절대적 인간해석을 해체한 니체의 철학적 사유, 다시 말해 인간을 존재 그 자체로부터 탐구하는 그의 철학적 인간학은 의철학의 사상적 토대로서의 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다.
The human being that philosophers and doctors investigate is the same, but the search for the principles contained therein leads philosophy and medicine into the individual academic disciplines. Nevertheless, these two disciplines are organically linked in the philosophy of medicine, which explores the ontological essence of human beings based on health and illness. The fact is that philosophy is the problem-consciousness of medicine and medicine is the anthropological answer to solve the problem-consciousness that it raises. The nature that philosophy thinks about and the nature that medicine takes care of are the same. Also, the nature that philosophers and doctors diagnose and heal is the same. This is why the dualism of the soul and body as the ontological basis of human beings in nature is meaningless. The human being is a part of nature and nature itself that shares the principle of life and health. Health and illness must therefore be natural principles. Therefore, health and illness cannot be determined by a single truth system or by a mechanical knowledge system. Nietzsche’s philosophical thinking, which dissolves the only absolute interpretation of human beings, i.e. his philosophical anthropology, which explores man from the point of existence itself, can serve as the intellectual basis for the philosophy of medicine.
